Our First Day of Travelling - New Delhi, India

We are in India! This is the first country on our list and we have well and truly been thrown in at the deep end. After a teary goodbye from our family at the airport we had an overnight flight to New Delhi and a very different climate to get used to. It was over 40°C as we were hurtling through Delhi's streets in a tuk tuk learning how on earth we could get a ticket for a train. After speaking to many backstreet tourist offices and a few Masala Teas later, we just about managed to book a train ticket to Ranthambore National Park.

Once we'd navigated the confusing train station and found where we needed to be we realised that our seats weren't next to each other, in fact they were on entirely different carriages! This is where is got a little bit frightening; we were on our own, going to a town neither of us could pronounce, in the dark after having very little sleep. To add to the drama someone decided they didn't like the free curry provided on the train and threw up all over me (Keira). We only had TWO more hours until we arrived but it could have been worse, at least we had AC.

Now we've settled in the town of Sawai Madhopur and are really enjoying everything about this part of the world. One thing we both love is how friendly and willing to help everyone is, from giving directions to having a chat. We've been on a couple of Safaris in the National Park which we'll post about soon but despite the chaos, we love it here.
